Have you ever had a solid soap or shampoo fall out and break in the shower?

Using the "little bits" until the end then becomes tedious and less pleasant... You have surely been tempted to abandon them and start a new product.

To avoid this waste , we have designed a simple but very practical bag for you: the zero-waste bag!

IN UPCYCLED FABRICS

It was while walking around the Gabonese markets, in the district called “Grand Village” where the thrift stores and fabric merchants are located, that this idea came to me.

I spotted a thrift store that sold old veils, probably from Europe. Some are cotton, of good quality but often torn or mismatched.

I had the idea to recover them to create this zero-waste bag that would be so practical.

Perpétue is a seamstress, she has a small shop in a street of “Grand Village” and sews dresses and other clothes in loincloth, the African fabric often called “Wax”. At the moment, times are tough, the various confinements and the resulting economic crisis are strongly affecting its activity. Perpetue wants to offer a good education to her 3 daughters. Two of them are still with them and go to the state school in Port-Gentil. Her eldest went to study at the University of Libreville, studying in Gabon is expensive, at the moment it is difficult to help her.

With perpetue, we worked on the first prototypes of this zero-waste bag. We have improved it and have integrated a small edging in loincloth for solidity and a tie bought in the local haberdashery to be able to hang it in the shower.
